Arooje Restaurant can be found in the little town of Normanton, near Wakefield. It’s an authentic Indian restaurant, offering customers home cooked Asian cuisine and impeccable service.
We loved this place. We were greeted by a lovely waitress when we arrived and shown to our table.
The menu is extensive, and offers up some incredible dishes. Arooje also specialises in Punjabi cooking, and has a great selection of dishes cooked in the traditional desi apna style. This type of sauce has a thick consistency and contains green chillies, spices, lemon, and fresh coriander.
To start, we decided to go with the Combo Platter to share (cooked on charcoal in special herbs, 2x Lamb chops, 2x seekh kebabs, 2x chicken tikka, 1x fish masala, 2x chicken wings.)
For our mains, we went with Chicken Tikka & Keema Balti ( grilled chicken, roasted with minced lamb, ginger, garlic, herbs & spices) and Karahi Fish (cooked with onions, tomatoes, garlic & ginger.)
Oh my word. The food was incredible, and so filling. Fresh ingredients, full of flavour. Perfect.
You must eat here.
