The Royal Carlton Hotel restaurant is situated on the famous promenade on Blackpool seafront, where classic British food is served, but with a contemporary edge.
When we arrived, we received a warm welcome. The views from the restaurant are fabulous, so we made sure we got a table by the window.
Food is served here daily, from lunchtime until late, and the restaurant is open to residents and visitors. We ordered a drink and looked through the menu.
To start, we ordered Farmhouse Pate (with homemade crostinis, pickles and a homemade chutney) and a Prawn Cocktail.
For mains, we opted for Lamb Henry (minted, braised in a red wine gravy & root vegetables) and the Oven Baked Salmon Fillet (served with potatoes and seasonal vegetables.)
The food was absolutely delicious. It was well presented, generous in portion and exceedingly tasty. The lamb fell apart it was so tender, and the salmon, which was smothered in a creamy Hollandaise sauce, was absolutely gorgeous.
You really need to try the food he
