The Cane & Grain is Manchester’s home of rum, ribs, bourbon and beer. Our idea of heaven, so we couldn’t wait to sample it on our night out in the Northern Quarter.
As soon as we arrived, we were swept up by the funky, vibrant, upbeat atmosphere. Everyone was friendly and relaxed, so we knew we were in for a good night. The place is actually set over three floors – part skate bar, part experimental speakeasy, part tiki lounge.
We headed to the Rib Joint & Tap Room, got ourselves a couple of drinks and perused the menu. We went straight for mains of the Cane & Grain Burger (quarter pound beef patty with pulled pork, jack cheese and slaw) and the Baby Back Ribs. Have to say, they were absolutely gorgeous. The ribs were cooked to perfection, and tasted sweet and tender. The burger was juicy and flavoursome. And of course, the rum tasted great too. Overall, a fabulous night.
Somewhere everyone must try.
