Chaophraya is situated in Manchester on Chapel Walk close to Cross Street, in the heart of the city. This beautiful heritage building is the home of classic Thai food and distinct signature dishes. This is an ideal spot to enjoy a drink with friends or colleagues, yet also perfect for celebrations or casual catch-ups. The restaurant takes inspiration from Thailand in its style and creates the perfect evening and ambience, whatever the occasion.
The restaurant provides authentic Thai delights with its delicious menu that offers a diverse choice of food. On arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table. For starters we opted for the Chaophraya Platter. This consisted of Thai chicken tacos, Thai fish cakes, chicken spring rolls, red curry battered prawns and crispy duck salad. Served with a selection of Thai sauces. A wholesome portion for two people to share and was mouth-wateringly good.
For mains we ordered the Khao Pad Gra Prao (Beef spicy riceberry and basil), which consisted of deep purple-coloured organic rice, high in vitamins, minerals, fibre and anti-oxidants, steamed with chillies, garlic and topped with an egg and the Chicken Pad Thai that contained Kim’s own famous recipe of Thai rice noodles, stir-fried with egg, vegetables and tamarind sauce.
The food was lovely. Perfectly cooked with fresh ingredients and oozing with flavour. A fabulous meal of 5* quality. If you enjoy authentic Thai cuisine, you must eat here.
