If you have a taste for tapas, you must go to La Vina Restaurant in the Deansgate area of Manchester. On our visit, we received a very warm reception from the friendly staff. The menu had an excellent selection of tapas to choose from, so we got stuck into ordering straight away.
We ended up ordering seven dishes between the two of us, including Pollo Envuelto
(chicken breast wrapped in serrano & stuffed with piquillo pepper, San Simón & a gordal olive & lemon dressing) Carrilleras (sherry-braised pork cheeks with crispy potatoes & shallots) and Carabineros Prawns (large prawns with a distinct red colour & firm meat similar to lobster.
Pan-fried with smoked sea salt & served simply with lemon.) Everything tasted absolutely beautiful. The prawns were juicy, the chicken oozing with flavour and the pork cheeks perfectly cooked. We washed the food down with a jug of Sangria, which was also delicious.
For great Spanish cuisine, you must try La Vina.
